“I fell for you and am still falling.” – D.J.(Your Tango)
A strange rather short two-episode series, about two young men who are in a relationship already. One is named Wish, (Plan Rathavit) and the other is Two, (Mean Phiravich). Wish is currently unemployed while Two is a Content Consultant to a web net idol named Aeoy (JingJing Prariyapit). Over the time they have been working together, she begins to develop feelings for Two and finally expresses them to him.
Two, however, roundly rejects her feelings and tells her that he has a boyfriend and is deeply in love with him. In a very guile manipulative way, she tries to persuade him that same gender relationships do not last. Finally having enough, Two retorts that it might be best to not judge other people’s relationship.
When Wish learns of Two’s exchange with Aeoy, he becomes upset with Two for not being forthright about who he was working with. Eventually, however, both realize that the love they have for each other is the only thing that matters and the simple fact is that they cannot live without the other.
Who really S.T.O.L.E. the series? What I did like about this story is not so much about its theme, which overall is a mundane and uneventful storyline, but about the two actors. It was refreshing to see that they really can stand out. These personalities did not match with the silliness of the characters they portrayed in LOVE BY CHANCE and LOVE BY CHANCE 2. They showed more personality, were less wooden, and became way more animated in normal ways. Yet nothing over the top. So, kudos for putting in more of an effort in this short series.
Unfortunately, they continued to display the same deficiency as in the other two series. Overall they just had no chemistry as a ‘couple’. I could not believe them for one second they are in love or ever intimate. I saw no spark. No connection with each other. And most importantly, no relatability/compatibility to one another. While they go through motions that look cute to be sure, there was no intensity or potency of feelings. Even when they touched each other, they act as if they are both touching hot coals.
They never could develop enough of a working relationship to appear as if they belonged together. When they looked into each other eyes, which was not often, there was no intensity, spark, or magic. They were that way in their other series, as well, regrettably.
Perhaps they like working together but, at least for me, that likeness does not translate into believable character development. I only see acting. No closeness. No fervor. No commitment. I just did not like these two as a couple.
Lamentably, both story and characters simply did not work for me.
