BLISS RATING: ★★★+ “I love you as certain dark things are to be loved, in secret, between the shadow and the soul.” –  Pablo Neruda If you are expecting this review to be one of glowing expressions and falling in line with the vast majority of people who think this series is some masterpiece, then…

BLISS RATING: ★★★★+ “When two souls are one, they hear each other, even in silence.” –  Matshona Dhliwayo Admittedly, this will be a narrative not to everyone’s taste. It is a tale of quiet love. Between two men who are deeply flawed and so self-absorbed that they have forgotten have to love. Not self-absorbed in…

BLISS RATING: ★★★★★ “The world’s judgement is terrifying, but us holding hands until the end… Isn’t that our story?” –  Quote from Deep In Magnum Opus! This is one of the best acted and finest love stories told on screen in a very long time. It literally is a duology, if you will. I was…

BLISS RATING: ★★★★+ “I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I have ended up where I intended to be.” –  Douglas Adams And what a journey this was! One of my most cherished storylines is period themes, especially ones representing the beguiling and alluring fantasy of ancient China. If I could,…

BLISS RATING: F “I don’t know what happiness looks like. I don’t even know what kind of expression to make.” –  Quote from Double Helix To be sure, I have seen my fair share of malignancy in BLs over the years, but this version is the most toxic, unimaginably abusive, comprehensively dysfunctional, and severely emotionally…

BLISS RATING: ★+ “Arrogance and jealousy often feed one another, creating a toxic cycle that transforms affection into a power struggle.” – solidaryroad.com This is yet another one of those enticing BI series that initially pulls you in but then does nothing, and I do mean nothing, with the story. It drones on and on…

BLISS RATING: ★★★★+ “Maybe I was destined to forever fall in love with people I could not have.” – Carol Rifka Brunt, Tell The Wolves I’m Home Just plain incomprehensible. Yet completely absorbing from the beginning and never let go. Although the story itself is notably out of reach, the characters were so compelling; I…

BLISS RATING: ★ “The best smell in the world is the scent of the person you love.” – Paulo Coelho I must confess that I knew nothing, and I mean nothing, about the world of Omegaverse especially as it pertains to the BL genre. Honestly, the hierarchical society that it creates is not just novel,…

BLISS RATING: ★★★★+ “The bottom line is we never fall for the person we’re supposed to.” –  Jodi Picoult, My Sister’s Keeper I found this to be full of dark humor with a good sprinkling of sadness to puncture its levity. It is a story about two astonishingly handsome yet despondent young men. Full of…

BLISS RATING: ★★★★ “Your words as true and tender as autumn waters. My thousand-mile journey ends in emptiness.” – Quote from Lost In Kyoto This is yet another brilliant art film from China that is misunderstood. Because it is so cryptic, its message does not consistently flow and so therefore, it feels a bit uneven.…
